Trump reportedly rejects Iran proposal, says US blockade will continue

US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s peace proposal and signalled the US will maintain its naval blockade of Iranian ports until Tehran agrees to a nuclear deal, according to Axios.

“The blockade is somewhat more effective than the bombing… They can’t have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.

Iran had proposed ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz while deferring talks on its nuclear programme.
