The Sudanese Doctors Network has warned that more than 100,000 displaced people in Blue Nile State face a potential humanitarian catastrophe as the country’s rainy season approaches. In a statement on Wednesday, the network expressed concern over worsening conditions in Ad-Damazin, where around 10 displacement centres are sheltering large numbers of people who have fled violence in Kurmuk and Qaysan districts. The group said children make up about 40 per cent of the displaced population, while women and older people account for roughly 60 per cent, highlighting the vulnerability of those affected.
