US to supply Israel with precision weapon kits, report says

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the United States will supply Israel with about 10,000 advanced precision weapon kits worth nearly $1bn.

The systems are designed to convert air-to-ground missiles into precision-guided munitions capable of targeting aerial threats, including some drones.

The report said the systems could improve interception capabilities but would not be effective against smaller, vision-based drones that have posed challenges to Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
