Explosions heard in Doha, key areas evacuated
Explosions were heard in Doha early Saturday after Qatar evacuated several key areas as a precaution, AFP news agency reported.
The Gulf state’s defence ministry said its military had “intercepted missile attack which targeted State of Qatar.”
Interceptors were seen over downtown Doha, downing two projectiles as Iran presses a retaliatory air campaign across the Gulf.
Residents in the central Musheireb district received phone alerts telling them to “evacuate the area immediately,” while authorities moved people, including hotel guests, into underground car parks for shelter.
