Iranian officials say attacks on UAE did not originate in Iran

Iranian military-linked sources said Iran was not responsible for reported attacks on the United Arab Emirates, stating that the strikes “were not targeted at or engaged from Iranian territory”, Al Jazeera reported. 

The remarks, carried by state media-linked outlets, said there was no plan by Tehran to target the UAE.

The statements come amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, where the United States is deploying forces to escort vessels. Iranian officials have also warned that ships linked to adversaries may not be allowed to move freely through the waterway.
