The Israeli army has begun stepping up pressure on Hamas to prevent the group from strengthening its presence and to force it to reconsider its refusal to disarm, as part of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump for the Gaza Strip, according to Yedioth Ahronoth. The newspaper reported that six Israeli brigades are currently deployed in Gaza, saying the rotation of forces indicates preparations for a prolonged and intensive presence in the territory. A paratrooperโ€™s brigade is expected to soon replace a reserve brigade that has completed its mission in Gaza.
