Fatah spokesperson Munther Al-Hayek said Israeli forces now control around 63 per cent of the Gaza Strip through expanding military zones and buffer areas. Speaking in a televised interview, Al-Hayek said the so-called “yellow line” established by Israel cuts through roughly 58 per cent of Gaza’s geographical area. He stated that northern and southern areas including Rafah and Beit Hanoun, as well as eastern sections of the territory extending two to three kilometres inward, are effectively under Israeli occupation and military control. According to Al-Hayek, these areas contain Israeli tanks, troops, military positions and earthen barriers, alongside extensive destruction.
