The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced late on Thursday that it had attacked several US destroyers in response to what it described as a ceasefire violation, using ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles and drones carrying warheads. In a statement, the IRGC navy command said the operation followed what it described as a US attack on an Iranian oil tanker near Jask port and the approach of US destroyers towards the Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran said amounted to a breach of the ceasefire. The statement said Iranian forces had launched “a very large and precise combined operation” using various anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, along with kamikaze drones carrying high-explosive warheads, targeting US destroyers in the area.  It added […]
