At least 31 killed in Israeli attacks across Lebanon, local media says

At least 31 people, including a rescue worker, were killed in widespread Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon on Friday, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency.

The agency described it as one of the deadliest days since fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah resumed on 2 March. 

Among those killed were five people in two air strikes on the town of Toura in the Tyre district, where rescue teams were still searching for a missing girl under the rubble.

An Israeli drone strike on a vehicle between Kfarchouba and Kfarhamam in Hasbaiyya district killed a civil defence worker, while additional strikes in the Bint Jbeil and Nabatieh districts left several more dead, including four people killed in as-Sultaniyah.

Despite a ceasefire announced on 17 April and later extended until 17 May, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have continued on a near-daily basis.
