IRGC warns against interference with Iranian commercial vessels

Iran warned on Saturday that it would target US military bases and warships in the region if Iranian tankers or commercial vessels come under attack, as Washington awaited Tehran’s response to a proposed agreement aimed at ending the conflict. The

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said any interference targeting Iranian oil tankers or commercial ships would be met with “violent attacks” against American military assets in the region.

The warning came as US President Donald Trump said he was awaiting Iran’s response to Washington’s latest diplomatic proposal intended to halt hostilities and address Tehran’s nuclear programme and regional activities.
