Qatar’s foreign ministry urges freedom of navigation in call with Iranian counterpart

Qatar's foreign minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss ongoing mediation efforts aimed at ending the war, Doha said on Sunday.  

Al Thani stressed that freedom of navigation must not be compromised, warning that using the Strait of Hormuz as a pressure tool would deepen the crisis and increase regional risks.
