The Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that Iran has formally submitted a multi-page response to the latest American proposal aimed at ending the war. According to the report, the Iranian response does not satisfy key United States demands regarding guarantees tied to Iran’s nuclear programme or the handling of its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. The report said Tehran proposed a gradual end to hostilities and a phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz alongside the lifting of the American embargo. It added that Iran proposed diluting part of its highly enriched uranium stockpile while transferring the remainder to a third country rather than the United States.
